The Unit’s drummer, Brandon Waylett, grew up in Gloversville, NY located about an hour northwest of Albany, NY. He has played drums in bands such as “Mind Caravan/Navarac”, “The Deb Lippa Group”, “Blue Opus”, “The Jammers and the Brother’s Dig”, “Grooved Pavement”, and “SmokeScreen”. He has also had the opportunity to experiment with reggae bands and alternative cover bands as well. He had the chance to record in studios at Fredonia State College and the College of Saint Rose. He has played a couple of events with Master Drummer Bernard Woma and his modified trio in 2003. Brandon spent three weeks in Ghana, West Africa during the summer of 2005 learning traditional West African dance music. Brandon hopes to perform funk, R&B, contemporary dance music and good old rock and roll with the party band “The Unit” for years to come.
“The sky is the limit when you’re surrounded by fantastic people who love to make music. We’d love to be able to play clubs, corporate events, resorts, and even weddings when THE UNIT turns out to be the right band for the job.”
